Effects

The beginning of my video where my actress is alone in her bedroom represents a repetitive, boring day until she is pulled through her mirror into an alternate universe of colour and fun. To highlight this change in mood, I have added the effect "Romantic". This makes the video slightly duller and also blurs the edges, giving the effect of a dull day.

This contrasts greatly with the very colourful balloon scenes, accentuating the difference between the two scenes, supporting the narrative.

Reverse Tool

Using the reverse tool, I was able to change the dynamic of my video in order to create a sense of even more movement and fun. 

Smooth Motion Clip Tool

Whilst working on my video I am continuously finding new tools and ways to make my video look more professional. I have recently found the "Smooth Clip Motion" tool, which is used to smooth out the motion of an unsteady clip. This is very useful for some of my later clips as I am walking with the camera so the clips are not very steady.

Continuing to Edit

I am now able to edit together the second half of my music video. I will be doing this for a few days in order to get all of the lip syncing in place and to ensure that I have enough footage to complete the whole song.

Re-filming

On Saturday I got my actors together and we re-filmed a lot of the second half of my film. This is because some of the shots were very dark. I believe that we got a lot more usable film this time. However, the weather was very cold, meaning that my actress had to wear a bigger coat than the first time we filmed and also a scarf. I am still planning on using clips from both days because the change of coat is not too visible as they are both black. If I had more time, I would have waited for a day when the weather was not too cold to wear the original outfit. However, I do have to work around the times which my actors are free and I also have to have time to edit it all together.

I will be continuing on with making my video and I will continue my ancillary tasks at a later date.

Digipak Design

I have decided that I will include an image of the whole band on the cover of my digipak and I will also include the band name. This is because my band is a new band and I would like customers to be able to see the band and their name. I will ensure that the cover is very colourful and eye-catching to compete with others like it.
I have drawn a rough design of what I would like my digipak to look like. This is only my first draft and I will probably make changes but this is the basic design that I will follow.

Conventions of a Digipak

Most digipak's have a large, eye catching picture on the front. This can either be a photograph of the band or a picture or design of anything at all.

       

The first image here is one of Paramore's first albums. Having a picture of the whole band allows them fans to recognise the band immediately since they are fairly new. I believe it that their name should have also been on the front since they may not have been very well known when this came out, however, the picture does show the band clear enough.

The second picture of the couch is the same band's most recent album. The image on the front is not of the band this time. This is because the band is not very well known for their name. The band's name is presented clearly on the front as this is their selling point.

The last image here is a band called 'We are the in crowd'. They have decided to use a design of coloured squares for their digipak cover. A design instead of an image is another option I will have to consider.

All of these covers are very colourful and eye catching. They will need to catch a customers eye on a shelf along with hundreds of other digipaks so these bright colours are essential.
